Bacteriostatic waterNAD+ (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) is a fundamental coenzyme present in all living cells, essential for metabolic processes and proper cellular function. It is a central subject of study in research on aging, energy metabolism, and DNA repair.
Studied mechanism of action
NAD+ functions through a redox cycle between its oxidized form (NAD+) and its reduced form (NADH), enabling the electron transfer necessary for energy production. It acts as a cofactor in hundreds of enzymatic reactions involved in glycolysis, the Krebs cycle, the electron transport chain, as well as in DNA repair and gene expression via sirtuins and PARPs.
Research areas
Aging and cellular function
Available NAD+ levels decline with age, a decline associated with reduced DNA repair capacity and mitochondrial dysfunction.
Sirtuins and DNA repair
Sirtuin and PARP enzymes depend on NAD+ to regulate chromatin state, DNA repair, and cellular stress response.
Mitochondrial health
Preclinical studies associate NAD+ level restoration with improved mitochondrial quality and enhanced antioxidant balance in tissues with high energy demand.
Nervous system and muscle function
Experimental models show a link between NAD+ and neuroprotection, synaptic efficacy, muscle oxidative capacity, and improved strength in aged models.
Immune and metabolic regulation
NAD+ availability is linked to the regulation of inflammation and the metabolic activity of immune cells.

Storage of lyophilized peptides
Upon receipt, store the lyophilized peptide at 4 °C or below, protected from light and moisture. In lyophilized form, the product remains stable at room temperature for several weeks. For long-term storage, storage at -20 °C is strongly recommended. Moisture is the main degradation factor: before opening the vial, allow it to come to room temperature to avoid any condensation inside the container.
Storage of reconstituted peptides
The shelf life of peptides in solution is limited. Freezing aliquots allows their lifespan to be extended. It is generally accepted that peptides in solution are stable for 3 weeks or more at +4 °C, and 3 to 4 months at -20 °C. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles, as they can degrade the peptides.
